This wiki was created for Lamar University M. Ed. in Educational Technology Leadership program. I have learned a lot over my 18 month experience. Pursuing a master’s degree in Educational Technology Leadership for Lamar University has been a lot of hard work and dedication to the program. The Educational Technology Leadership program prepares technology leaders to lead a vision of technological change, growth, and the advancement of technology integration throughout the K-12 curriculum. Twelve courses make up the 18-month program that mirrors the real-world environment that technology leaders face on a daily basis. Career My ultimate career position would be to become a technology professor at the college or university level. One of the positions that would help lead me to my goals are to become a certified Master Technology Teacher (MTT). Within the next five years, I would love to become an instructional technology specialist or coach for a school district. In the past, I have had the privilege of being a Technology Applications EC-12 and 4th grade teacher, campus technologist, and currently I am a Technology Integration Mentor (T.I.M). Leadership As an educational leader, I hope to inspire other educators to support the advancement of technology integration. I want to teach others how to use Web 2.0 tools to collaborate in a 21st century learning environment. Furthermore, I want to help campuses achieve state and national technology standards through professional development opportunities. In addition, I want to continue to learn and share best practices in technology research. The personal drive that motivated me to obtain a master’s degree was the love that I have for technology. A personal reason for wanting to become a technology leader was to help educators understand and to provide insight on how students are more engaged in participating in authentic learning experiences. My accomplishments will help me lead school improvement by providing me with the building blocks and foundation to lead technology standards. I now have a deeper knowledge base and understanding of technology concepts and operations to facilitate change to improve 21st century learning.
